Tom Kiroplis

Tom Kiroplis, MEd, R. TCMP, R. Ac

Tom Kiroplis is the principal teacher at the. He has taught for several years for the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Meridian Health Education and Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute (APTEI). In addition, Tom is a successful owner of two busy acupuncture clinics.

Tom also completed an acupuncture hospital internship in Nanjing, China in 1997.

Additionally, Tom has the assistance of four experienced Physiotherapists who have practiced acupuncture for several years and have been additionally taught by Tom himself. This ensures that all students are supervised closely to maximize learning.

Stephanie Gilmour, MScPT, B.Kin, CAFCI, MCPA

A local Town of Caledon Resident for 25 years, Stephanie obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.

Prior to physiotherapy school, she attended McMaster University where she played varsity volleyball and received an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is in good standing.

Stephanie continues to expand her clinical knowledge with post graduate courses for acupuncture, orthotic prescription and manual therapy. She is currently a clinical acupuncture facilitator for the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute (APTEI). Her varied clinical experiences through school allow her to treat a variety of orthopaedic, neurological and cardiorespiratory conditions; however her clinical interests lie in musckuloskeletal and sports injuries.

In her free time Stephanie enjoys playing volleyball, both beach and indoor, working out and traveling.

 

Facilitators

Elena Mustata, B.Sc.PT., CAFCI, MCPA

Elena received her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Univeristy of Toronto in 2002. Prior to emmigrating to Canada, she was a Medical Doctor in Romania since 1991.

She has been in Orthopaedic and Acupuncture practice since 2002 and the sole owner of ProHealth Physiotherapy in Mississauga, since 2005. Elena also completed her Certification in Acupuncture (AFCI) in 2007 and additionally, has been learning acupuncture techniques, TCM theory and points from Tom Kiroplis ( Meridian Health Education and APTEI), since 2006.

Elena has taken Postgraduate courses in Manual Therapy (Level I and II), Myofascial and Mulligan Techniques, Orthotic Therapy, Dry Needling (American Dry Needling Institute – 2011) and Functional Capacity Evaluations (1991). She is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Len Kiroplis

Len Kiroplis, B.Health Sc. (PT), BScH

Len has been in practice since 1994 after graduating from McMaster University. He also attended Queen’s University for his BSc. in Biology. Len worked in Outpatient Orthopaedics and Home Health Care in Florida from 1995-1996 and in Sports Therapy in Colorado from 1997-1998.

He has co-owned and operated Queen West Physiotherapy & Acupuncture, in Brampton, since 1998 as well as Albion Hills Physiotherapy, in Bolton, since 2006 with his brother and colleague, Tom Kiroplis, Certified Acupuncturist. He also served as the Chair, Newsletter Editor and Communications Rep for the Acupuncture Division for a period of 8 years and has been an Executive member of the International Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists since 2019.

Along with his facilitating and program development role for the, Len has also been a teaching facilitator for the Advanced Physical Therapy Institute Acupuncture and Dry Needling courses since 2010. Len completed Acupuncture courses with AFCI and has been learning acupuncture and TCM theory from Tom Kiroplis (Meridian Health Education and APTEI) since 2000. He utilizes a combination of Mulligan, McKenzie, and Exercise prescriptions in combination with Acupuncture and Dry Needling for many of his clients and enjoys reading up on current effectiveness research in the areas of both acupuncture and dry needling.

Nils Perez, MSc.PT, BSc.H.Kin

Nils Perez earned his Bachelor in Physical Therapy from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso in Chile. He is a Registered Physiotherapist Resident with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Ontario Physiotherapy Association.

Nils is also a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and member of Ontario Kinesiology Association. Prior to completing his Bachelor in Physical Therapy, Nils obtained a Bachelor in Teacher of Physical Education from Pontificia Universida Catolica de Valparaiso and a Diploma in Exercise Physiology from Universidad de Chile in Chile.
